  • What a fantastic place. My husband and I took our 15 month old son as he has a fascination with birds. He loved stroking the snowy owl! However, my husband and I were just as fascinated. Superb.

  • Had a visit to our cub pack this evening of some of the birds. The boys and girls really enjoyed the talk and handling the birds. Many thanks.

  • My daughter and I had the pleasure of meeting some of the residents of the sanctuary when they were visiting Technquest last Sunday - the birds were obviously extremely well loved and my daughter was besotted with them ... I just wish I could have given a bigger donation on the day to support your work. We hope to visit soon,

  • Hi is the sanctuary still closed and is it likely to open again ? This must be costing the shops a few pounds in lost custom , as for the first time in a number of years as the owl sanctuary is closed we are going to Bridgend and Cardiff for the sales as there was nothing for me to do in ebbw vale whilst the wife and daughter went shopping.
Hoping this bureacratic nonsense is resolve soon and that the owl sanctuary reopens.
Best wishes For the New Year.

  • What a shame!! I dont live too far away from Ebbw Vale and used to visit the sanctuary lots!. I find owls amazing and the work done by the sanctuary is also brilliant. The person below had a good point, there must be money to offer the sanctuary as it is such a good cause and seemingly from all the comments and supporters is very popular. I certainly loved it and want to ensure the birds receive the care and attention they need!

  • What a beaurocratic mess!! If there were problems then the authorities should have tried to help. I know for a fact that they have been trying to close down the sanctuary for many years and Malcolm has had to battle every inch of the way. If it is down to money then why dont the new owners of the retail park put their hands in their wallets as they still advertise the owl sanctuary and it is a good pulling point for them.

  • I regularly bring my daughter to the sanctuary, she loves it, Its both educational and entertaining, its a fab place and doing a great job... we have sponsored various owls too, how do we keep an eye on them if the sanctuary is closed? pen pushers have no idea, besides, they wouldnt have such a large bonus and big dinner do's if they fund you,.....good luck x

  • I recently went back to visit my home town of Ebbw Vale, with my partner. WI specifically wanted to show him the sanctuary. I was extremely shocked in finding out that the owl sanctuary was being shut down as it was a favourite placeof mind. I also discovered that we were unable to walk across the boardwalks, this too was extremely upsetting as I helped build one of them a few years ago. I think its a real shame that the owl sanctuary has closed as it brought alot of business and entertainment to the enclosure.
