  • I visited this sanctuary a few weeks ago, and it is a fantastic place. I was so impressed with it, I decided to look up this website and was absolutely devasted to read the comments about it closing down. This cannot happen.

  • I visited the sanctuary today with my family for the first time and came away feeling rather emotional! Malcom has put his life and soul in to this sanctuary and even wild birds are queuing to get in! The thought of this wonderful place being closed down by the local council is devastating not just for malcom but for the birds too who are clearly well looked after as they're breeding! People bring their unwanted and injured birds to Malcom and he asks no quesitons just provides them with a safe and loving home. This is a wonderful place to visit with the most beautiful views and should be kept open for many years to come!

  • We have been visiting this Sanctuary for years and am fed up with Blaenau Gwent Council, Malcolm does a fantastic job and this is truly a wonderful visit and educational. If it's not one thing with the council, it's another. This should be supported the council has various grants which would really help this place. I donate every time I visit and just feel they do such an amazing thing. The councils should maybe say education is important well you can't get better education than learning about the wildlife we have in this country xxx keep it up Malcolm and if we can help in any way. Am writing to the council directly as well as feel so strongly about this.

  • We visited for the 2nd time yesterday and there is no way the sanctuary should shut. As a family we all love it and that is why we like shopping in Ebbw Vale. Malcom deserves a medal for all his great work! See you again soon

  • Saw some of your birds in Nantgarw Garden Centre. Briliant!! Your knowledge of them is second to none and the birds are obviously happy with the way they are cared for. The Council need to sort out their priorities and treat you as a charity not a zoo.

  • Went to the one in north wales. enjoyed it but this one really packs a punch. Any owl enthusiast will be in their oils as the variation of owls can only be described in one world. impressive. great day out for all the family.

  • We visited the sanctuary today and the kids had a great time. The little barn owl was a great hit with my daughter. Very disappointed with the councils lack of support to people who are just trying to do something good.
