  • We visited the owl sanctuary today and thought it was truly fantastic, the staff were so friendly, helpful and truly dedicated it was a real joy to watch as well as take part. This is a must for kids over the holidays and its free, but so important you make a donation to assist with the upkeep, well done everyone

  • I visited the owl sanctuary with my three Granddaughters , what a fantastic place, the birds were amazing and so were the staff, the highlight was being able to hold some of the birds. Will recommend this place and will definitely come again.... :)

  • On a visit with my daughter it was a pleasure to find such an informal approach to a collection of birds of prey. Being unprepared I wasn't able to note down all I saw but my photographs will be a permanent reminder of a fascinating informative visit.

  • I have always been interested in birds so this was a real treat for me. I really enjoyed it here. It was nice to see that birds are being cared for so well. Today I had the opportunity to handle a barn owl and talk to Malcolm, the owner. I would recommend a visit, as I will definitely visit again with my mum and dad.

  • We came to see the owls today and had a wonderful time, we both got to hold Ruby, and some of the other birds! We will definitely be returning in the future and would recommend the Owl sanctuary to anyone who likes animals.

  • Lovely place. Great to see such beautiful birds rescued and protected. Also took a liking to the lovely tortoise!

A lovely place to spend an hour, would recommend to any bird lover.

The only suggestion would be clearer signs from the car park... We had to walk back and fore three times as the arrow took us to a dead end! But once we got there it was just fab!
    Thank you

  • This owl sanctuary was amazing. I am absaloutly addicted to owls and I was able to hold and cuddle jess the barn owl and got to touch the massive eagle owl. I was then shown different owls and they answered all of my questions. I shall be visiting again soon. It is worth a visit :)

  • Visited again today, but this time with the kids. Malcolm let both of them hold Houdini (an Eagle Owl) and a Barn Owl. They've talked of nothing else since. In fact, my youngest has been drawing pictures of Houdini ever since we got home - she says he's the best bird ever!
Thanks Malcolm, it looks like we've recruited another lover of these amazing birds!

  • We visited today (2/3/13) and had a great time. Got a bit lost finding the owl sanctuary from the shopping area (signs aren't good) but head through the wooden towers of the childrens' play area and down the hill. Our daughter and I got to hold a barn owl and Malcolm was really knowledgeable. We were probably only there an hour or so and they appeared to be doing quite a bit of work, so we'll be back in spring/summer so see what it's like more in-season. It's lovely that it's free and you can give your own donation.

  • We bought our 3 lovebirds to be looked after here and were in no doubt that they would be very well loved and cared for. The owners, workers and volunteers we're so friendly and the birds were not only beautiful, but chatty and sociable! Well worth a visit....and not just for our lovebirds!
